this might be old to most of u but i just came across it a couple of weeks back. The kid powered merry go-round water pumps. This looks like the most suitable soluton for our water problems in neglected areas of the world. South Africa started this project and it has been very successful so far.

the idea is to have a bore hole drilled. and now instead of using ur traditional electricity powered or solar powered pump, the merry go round wll serve as the source of power for the pump. The kids will go on the merry go round and voila water cometh. A big 2500 litre tank will be placed in postion to serve as a reservoir for the pumped water and a tap will be close by for people to fetch their clean God sent water. What a beauty.

I was watching MTV last time, haven't watched it in ages but as i was flipping through the channels i came across one of my favorite music artist Jay-Z. So i decided to watch, well guess what , its what a typical musician would do he was on tour, but this time in the motherland "AFRICA". He came to south africa and the proceeds of the concert went to a villiage where the play pump was installed for 14000 us dollars. So Jay-z experienced what females in neglected sub-saharan regions had to experience going for long distance everyday in search of water as impure as it may be.....................

I wish musicians did this all the time that would be super, just have concerts and have the proceeds go towards helping the less fortunate. I mean the music stars are making the millions, enjoying their diamond life so atleast let their talent give something to the world in return, to the (poor in particular).

Well guess what even if u're not a musician or can't persuade any musician to come for a concert in ur country u can make the difference but donating... so still many avenues are open to help.
